Meet Your Crown Hill Dentists
Dr. G. Thomas Cloyd
Dr. G. Thomas Cloyd believes that in all things, people come first. After graduating with bachelor’s degrees in zoology, biology, and chemistry from Indiana State University, Dr. Cloyd earned his DDS at Indiana University, School of Dentistry. He focused his continuing education on areas such as orthodontics, implants, and endodontics (root canals). He pursues training in the latest dental technology and procedures to bring his patients the finest clinical care he can offer.
Dr. Cloyd achieved the distinction of Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and the American College of Dentistry, a prestigious honor bestowed by his peers. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), the Indiana Dental Association, Western Indiana Dental Society, and he participates in the Select Study Club of Evansville, a group focused on dental implants. He was recently appointed to the Indiana University School of Dentistry Deans Advisory Board
Dr. Cloyd is a Deacon in the First Christian Church of Clinton, Indiana, and volunteers with many local charities, including the Crown Hill Sanitary Sewer District, for which he is president. This organization brought sewer services to the community and successfully fostered economic growth in the area.
Dr. Cloyd dated his wife, Victoria, while he attended dental school. Victoria, a dental hygienist at the time, helped start Dr. Cloyd's current practice together in 1972.
After hours, Dr. Cloyd enjoys the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling, and of course, playing golf. He has been known to curl up with a good book when time allows. However, his favorite activity is getting to know patients as he spends time talking with them in his dental practice.
Dr. Brittany D. Gooding
Dr. Gooding hails from Cayuga, and found her calling to the dental profession at a very young age. After graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in General Health Services from the prestigious Purdue University in 2007, she continued her pursuit of higher learning by earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2011, where she again achieved Cum Laude status. Dr. Gooding joined the practice in July of 2011, where she looks forward to continuing Dr. Cloyd’s legacy and dedication to providing patients with the highest quality of care. During her education, Dr. Gooding received numerous awards including the American Academy of General Dentistry Senior Award, the American College of Prosthodontists Award, the President’s Award for National Board Scores, and the George A. Welch Memorial Scholarship.
Dr. Gooding's passion for dentistry stems from her love of making a positive impact on the lives of her patients. She loves using a variety of methods to help those in her care change their oral health for the better. Dr. Gooding takes the time to effectively communicate with her patients to fully understand their cosmetic, restorative, and general dentistry needs. She especially enjoys helping her patients feel relaxed in the dental chair, whether they are adults with a heightened fear of the dentist, or children experiencing their first appointment. The emphasis on the value of these dentist-patient relationships is Dr. Gooding's favorite aspect of her career.
Dr. Gooding is a member of the numerous professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association, the Western Indiana Dental Society of which she is the acting President, the Academy of General Dentistry, member of and trained in sedation through DOCS, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and is an acting Board Member of the Mid East Society of Orthodontics for General Practice.
Outside the office, Dr. Gooding married her high school sweetheart, Cody, in 2011. The couple live in Clinton, and they have two children, Ella and Gabriel. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, dancing, camping, hiking, and sightseeing. She is also an active member of the community dedicating time to various organizations including being an active Board Member of the Parke Vermillion County Humane Shelter, volunteering with the Clinton Breakfast Optimist Club, working with the Tri Kappa Philanthropy Organization, and acting on the committee for the Vermillion County Dancing with the Stars (which supports the Clinton Community Recreational Center).
