Implants for Denture Support
Better Dentures with Dental Implants
Implants can be used to attach to your denture to reduce movement and improve fit. If you have ever experienced an ill-fitting denture you understand how frustrating it can be. With dental implant stabilization the dentures will have special attachments on the inner lining that snaps into attachments on the implants. The added benefit Is that the dental implants actually stabilize your bone so that the bone loss that occurs over time when teeth have been removed is reduced.
Dental implants are surgically implanted titanium posts that are placed into the jaw bone and then support whichever form of replacement tooth or teeth we select. Mini dental implants are just a slimmer version of full-size dental implants, and they can be used when a patient doesn’t have the bone to support full-size dental implants. Both regular and mini dental implants will bond with the jaw bone over a few months of healing; this process is called osseointegration.
With our advanced technology that includes 3-d imaging of the bone, our CBCT, Dr. Gooding is able to assess the bone quality and plan your case with the most accurate information available!
